The Province of Iloilo, through Balay Pagbag-o under the management of the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, looks back with pride and joy at how far we have come.
In just two years of operation, our center has been recognized as a champion in advancing the Bahay Pag-asa standards of care – a milestone that reflects our collective dedication to uplifting the lives of children in conflict with the law.
The award was conferred by Atty. Tricia Clare Oco, Executive Director of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council; and Assistant Secretary Zabedin Azis of the Department of Social Welfare and Development during the culminating event of the 14th Juvenile Justice and Welfare Consciousness Week on November 28, 2025 at Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, Quezon City.
The citation was received by Mr Rani Melvi A. Cuarte, Acting PSWDO; Ms Marice Andrea S. Bedonia, Balay Pagbag-o Center Head; and Ms Frechie F. Grana, Balay Pagbag-o Case Manager; together with Ms Anna Karla Villanueva of the Regional JJWC VI.
This achievement would not have been possible without the strong support and partnership of our key leaders.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Governor Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr., Vice Governor Nathalie Ann Debuque, and Provincial Administrator Raul Banias for their steadfast guidance, progressive leadership, and unwavering belief in the power of restorative care.
We likewise express our deepest thanks to our Multidisciplinary Team and the dedicated Balay Pagbag-o staff. Your compassion, hard work, and commitment are the pillars of our success.
Each of you has played a vital role in ensuring that our youth receive the holistic, nurturing, and transformative care they deserve.
This award is more than a recognition – it is a celebration of teamwork, shared purpose, and the hope we continue to bring to every young person who enters our care.
As we move forward, we remain inspired to uphold excellence, strengthen our programs, and continue being a beacon of second chances.
Congratulations to all!
