Twenty-nine job seekers were hired on the spot (HOTS), 323 applicants registered, and 328 applicants for further interview were recorded at the recently held PESO Job and Migrants Fair at Casa Real de Iloilo.
The event, organized by Iloilo Provincial PESO was participated in by over 323 applicants, including 2 PWDs and 1 Senior Citizen, while the 27 companies present at the fair pitched over 6,000 job vacancies for local and overseas employment.
Iloilo Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul N. Banias said the PESO Job Fair is a testament to the provincial government’s commitment to creating employment opportunities and fostering economic growth guided by the vision of MoRProGRes (Movement for a Robust, Progressive, Globally Competitive, and Resilient Iloilo).
“Diri kamo apply sa PESO Job Fair because I am very sure and very confident na diri wala peke, wala diri illegal recruiter,” said Dr. Banias.
Meanwhile, Mr. Heler, PESO Head thanked the partner companies for their unending support. Also present in the activity was DOLE 6 Provincial PESO Officer, Ms. Nanette S. Epiz.
Local government units of Janiuay, Balasan, Oton, and Barotac Viejo through their PESOs facilitated transportation for their constituent applicants. We are also grateful to the government agencies SSS, BIR, DOLE, PHILHEALTH, DTI, NBI, TESDA, DMW, PSA, OWWA, and DFA for assisting our jobseekers through their help desks.
Additional activities were the conduct of Anti-Illegal Recruitment Orientation for 21 OFW association presidents/officers by the Dept. of Migrant Workers officer Ms. Rhea Glynda Calantas and the Promotional Trade Fair of 4 OFW Associations showcasing their products.
Ms. Cynthia P. Dario, Supervising Labor and Employment Officer- Provincial PESO, officially declared the opening of the Job Fair to start the event.
