The Iloilo Provincial Government last week released almost PHP 14.5 M for sports equipment, uniforms, and other expenses to the Iloilo Schools Sports Council (Integrated) Meet and the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA).
The Capitol allocated PHP 2,260,061.40 for the Integrated Meet and PHP 12,212,100.00 for WVRAA.
Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. handed the cheque to Mr. Nelson Bogador who serves as Assistant Sports Coordinator of the Department of Education Division of Iloilo.
The financial assistance, sourced from the Provincial School Board (PSB) and Special Education Fund (SEF), reflected Capitol’s commitment to promoting athletic excellence and fostering a culture of sportsmanship within the province.
Beyond this monetary support, the government has earmarked an additional PHP 1 million to cover expenses such as medals and trophies, sports shoes, and kitchen utensils for athletes.
