The Iloilo Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office, with the support from the USAID Energy Secure Philippines (ESP) – Energy Knowledge Empowerment in Western Visayas (EKEWV), through a grant being implemented by the Central Philippine University (CPU) has successfully conducted the province-wide Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) roll-out.
May was indeed a productive one for the IPG Energy Team, USAID ESP-EKEWV, and the five districts of the province of Iloilo.
The first district GEMP roll-out was conducted on May 2, 2024, at ISAT-U Miag-ao while the one in the second district was on May 9 at the municipality of Pavia.
The third district leg was scheduled for May 16 at Cabatuan town. The fourth district’s schedule was on May 23 in Passi City. The last leg of the fifth district was conducted on May 30 at the municipality of Concepcion.
The GEMP roll-out aims to capacitate the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Officers (EECOs), Energy Efficiency and Conservation Focal Persons (EEC focal persons), and members of the local energy team of each municipality – for stronger compliance with the GEMP implementing rules and regulations by the Department of Energy.
