Send-off performance of the Tultugan Festival of the municipality of Maasin at the Maasin Municipal Gym.
Tribu Tultugan will represent the province and showcase the “Fun, Foodie, Friendly Iloilo” to the Aliwan Fiesta on June 27-29, 2024 at the Aliw Theater, Pasay, Metro Manila.
Witness as they showcase the creativity and resourcefulness of the Maasinanons through a world-class performance featuring the rhythmic melodies of bamboo.
To recall, the Tultugan Festival was hailed as the champion during the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan 2024 organized by the Iloilo provincial government as one of the highlights of the Dinagyang Festival.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, and the Capitol department heads and employees graced the event as a show of support to the contingents. The provincial government has also provided a subsidy to the municipality of Maasin for their participation in the Aliwan Fiesta.
The send-off event was spearheaded by Mayor Francis Amboy, Vice Mayor Vicente Albacete, and the Sangguniang Bayan Members. It was fully supported by the Maasinanons as they filled the municipal gym.
Third District Rep. Lorenz Defensor also attended the event.
Tultugan Festival pays tribute to the rich bamboo industry of Maasin. “Tultugan” is a native bamboo percussion instrument used for communication and as a musical tool.
It is the second time for Maasin to join the Aliwan.
