The Iloilo Public Information and Community Affairs Office (PICAO) held a successful community dialogue, ‘Hinun-anon sa Barangay,’ in Oton, aimed to bridge the gap between the Iloilo Provincial Government and local communities by showcasing various provincial programs and services.
Officials and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Officers from Barangay Salngan and Barangay Galang participated in the dialogue.
Key presentations included the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), which provided insights into the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis (AICS), medical assistance programs, senior citizen benefits, and the procedures for availing these services.
The Provincial Engineers Office detailed ongoing infrastructure projects and explained the request and requirements process for these developments.
Additionally, the Provincial Health Office addressed the prevention and management of dengue fever, highlighting Oton’s position among the top ten areas in the province with high dengue cases.
Salngan’s Punong Barangay Antonio Panuela expressed gratitude towards PICAO for empowering local officials with valuable information. Similarly, Barangay Galang’s Punongbarangay Efren Magapa committed to disseminating the information received to their constituents.
Other barangays interested in hosting a similar dialogue are encouraged to request PICAO for future engagements.
