The Provincial Educational Assistance Program for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) Management Boards recently convened to expand educational access for marginalized communities.
The joint meeting, led by Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul N. Banias on behalf of Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr., underscored the provincial government’s dedication to social justice and human capital investment, as the board adopted new grantee selections to ensure continued educational opportunities for IP and PWD scholars.
Each year, the province selects 40 PWD and 50 IP grantees to help them access and complete quality tertiary education at public schools within the province, ensuring they have the support needed to graduate.
Each grantees receive a total of Php 41, 000 every school year until they graduate from college.
This initiative, facilitated by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO Province Of Iloilo), reaffirms the province’s ongoing efforts to empower vulnerable sectors through quality education, enabling them to complete their college degrees.
