The Provincial Veterinarian’s Office-Iloilo (PVO) of Iloilo continued its campaign to eliminate rabies through a series of outreach activities in partnership with local government units (LGUs) across the province.
On October 7, PVO led a responsible pet ownership advocacy event in Carles where it focused on the importance of vaccinating pets and proper animal care as critical measures to prevent rabies transmission.
A neutering activity in New Lucena followed on October 8, conducted in partnership with the Municipal Agriculture Office.
Eighteen pets were neutered by PVO-Iloilo’s veterinary surgeons, contributing to population control efforts that reduce the risk of rabies outbreaks.
The outreach concluded in Passi City on October 10, where pet owners were provided free consultations and neutering services.
This initiative offered much-needed veterinary care while raising public awareness about rabies prevention.
These activities are part of the PVO’s sustained effort to eradicate rabies in the province, promoting responsible pet ownership and ensuring accessible veterinary care.
