Donna Jean Gabasa, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from Concepcion, Iloilo, visited Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. today following her return from Lebanon, where the ongoing conflict prompted her repatriation.
During their meeting, Governor Defensor assured Gabasa of the province’s full support, recognizing the hardships faced by OFWs amid global crises.
In addition to the assistance provided by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Iloilo Provincial Government will extend Php 10,000 to Gabasa under its Financial Assistance for Repatriated OFW Program.
Gabasa is also eligible for a start-up livelihood loan of up to Php 100,000 through the Expanded Micro Business Recovery Assistance during Crisis & Emergency (EMBRACE) Program, an initiative aimed at helping returning OFWs rebuild their livelihoods and ensure financial stability.
Governor Defensor expressed the province’s commitment to standing by its residents, especially during times of crisis, to help them recover and build a better future.
