Iloilo Provides Aid To Families Of Fallen CPP-NPA Member In Peace Effort

In a demonstration of commitment to local peace initiatives, the Iloilo Provincial Government extended Php 30,000 in financial assistance to the families of deceased member of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program.

The distribution is part of a broader local engagement effort aimed at encouraging CPP-NPA members to reintegrate into society.

The kinsfolk were accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Vicel Jan Garsuta, Commanding Officer of the 12th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.

In total, the province through PSWDO Province Of Iloilo awarded assistance to 12 families, recognizing the hardship faced by the kin of slain individuals.

The Iloilo Provincial Government with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) also implements the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) where beneficiaries or those who left arm struggle and decided to be reintegrated in the society are provided with assistance and support.

Assistance provided are Immediate Assistance in the amount of P15,000.00, and Livelihood Assistance in the amount of P50,000.00.

The province has been actively promoting a path to peace, offering various forms of assistance to individuals who seek to surrender and return to their communities.
