Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. turned over checks in the amount of Php 3.5 million each for the establishment of Teen Center Version 2.0 in the following areas:
* Nalundan National High School, Brgy. Nalundan, Guimbal
* San Joaquin School of Fisheries, Brgy. Baybay, San Joaquin
* New Lucena National Comprehensive High School, Poblacion, New Lucena
* Esteban S. Javellana Memorial National High School, Guiso, Calinog
* Mina National High School
* Ardemil National High School, Sara, Iloilo
Principals of the recipient schools together with municipal officials receive their checks from Gov. Defensor and Provincial Population Office (PPO) chief Atty. Ruel Von Superio and his staff.
Teen Center Version 2.0 is an infrastructure project implemented by the PPO that involves the construction of teen center buildings inside the schools.
This is an upgrade from the previous project of the province which only involves provision of equipment to teen centers.
In 2024, Gov. Defensor allotted P35 million for the construction of an initial 10 teen centers or two per district.
The recipients were Oton National High School and Alejandro Fermeza National High School in Miagao (first district); Alimodian National High School and Western Visayas Sanitarium Integrated School in Santa Barbara (second district); Alberto Sorongon National High School in Pototan and Maasin National High School (third district); Dominador Abang Memorial National High School in San Enrique and Cabudian National High School in Dueñas (fourth district); and Cabalic National High School in Balasan and Nicomedes R. Tubar Sr. National High School in San Dionisio (fifth district).
