Officials of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU), namely, Leovigildo Rey Alaran, Dean of College of Fisheries and Allied Sciences, Estancia Campus and Rizel A. Bartolata Assistant Cashier receive a check amounting to Php 200,000 intended for their institution’s research project entitled “SMART MUSSEL PROJECT: Towards a Sustainable Community-based Green Mussel Aquaculture Production in Concepcion, Iloilo”.
Releasing the check in behalf of Gov. Defensor were Executive Assistant Atty. Artem Ron Raymundo and PPDO head Valme Lujan.
The project is part of Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr.’s initiative of tapping various state universities and colleges (SUCs) and higher education institutions (HEIs) in the city and province of Iloilo to advance research, development, and innovation.
The collaboration aims to leverage the expertise of the academe in various fields such as science and technology, agriculture and fisheries, and public health, among others for joint research projects and knowledge sharing to attain the social justice agenda of the Defensor administration under his development thrust MoRProGRes ILOILO or Movement for a Robust, Progressive, Globally Competitive and Resilient Province of Iloilo.
