Zarraga Mayor Jofel Marañon-Soldevilla with some barangay officials received a check worth Php 6.1 million from Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. this morning intended for the construction of a typhoon-resilient three-classroom building at Jalaud Elementary School.
The project is under the Bulig Eskwela sang Probinsya (BES Probins) program of Governor Defensor which aims to help address classroom shortage and the improvement of school facilities to promote an effective, relevant and transformative educational system in the Province of Iloilo.
The fund came from the Special Education Fund of the Provincial School Board (PSB).
Joining the check turnover is PSB secretary Freda Sabanal-Fajardo.
