The Iloilo Provincial Population Office (IPPO) led by Atty. Ruel Von Superio held a recognition ceremony honoring the 46 kaTUWAng On-the-Job Trainees (OJTs) from the University of San Agustin on July 4, 2025 at the Western Visayas National Museum.

These graduating Psychology students played an important role in assisting the school-based teen centers established by the province in eight secondary schools by providing support to the mental health concerns of the youth.

The recipient schools are Guimbal National High School, Zarraga National High School, Santa Barbara National Comprehensive High School, Tigbauan National High School, Barotac Nuevo National Comprehensive High School, Janiuay National Comprehensive High School, Botong-Cabanbanan National High School and Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School.

Vice Governor Nathalie Anne Debuque in her inspirational message said, “You made a real impact in the communities and schools you served. I hope you carry with you the spirit of kaTUWAng—teamwork, service, and shared purpose – as you continue your journey.”

The young leader reminded the interns that their work matters even if it isn’t recognized with an award. “This certificate is not just a piece of paper; you have contributed to your community in an impactful way,” she said.

Atty. Superio also thanked the interns for their enthusiasm and ideas, while PPO Division Chief Shalene Hidalgo called them future leaders who will make a difference.

The kaTUWAng OJT program is a strong example of how the government and schools can come together to support youth and community development across Iloilo Province.
