Stakeholders Unite For Water Security In Iloilo Through IWARI Project

The Iloilo Provincial Government welcomed representatives from Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Philippines and The Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines Inc. (CCFPI) on July 9, 2025, as part of the official rollout of the Iloilo Water Resilience Initiative (IWARI) Project.

Received by Dr. Raul N. Banias, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Governor, the team presented the three-year IWARI Project, which aims to improve water security and governance in the Tigum-Aganan Watershed and Iloilo-Batiano River System.

Funded by CCFPI and implemented by CRS, the initiative strengthens local capacity in managing critical water resources through multi-sectoral collaboration. The project directly benefits communities by ensuring long-term access to clean water and promoting sustainable watershed management.

PENRO-LGU Iloilo Ipg Forester Mitzi Peñaflorida and Maasin MENR Officer Noemie Magullado also presented local strategies supporting the initiative, highlighting the province’s commitment to environmental resilience.
