Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. listens to a briefing conducted by the Provincial Agriculture Office as regards the status of the province’s rice program in preparation for the implementation of the Php 20 per kilo rice under the SiPag at TiyaGa for MoRProGRes Iloilo program.
Defensor earlier stressed that the P20-per-kilo rice program in the province will benefit families with undernourished children, aiming to improve food security and nutrition among the most vulnerable sectors.
He recently launched Executive Order No. 040 implementing the “SiPag at TiyaGa (Siguradong Pagkain, Tiyak na Galing-Kalusugan) for MoRProGRes sa Bagong Pilipinas”, in response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s nationwide call to make rice more affordable for vulnerable sectors and to strengthen food security across the country.
Also present are heads or representatives of concerned departments, such as, Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Provincial Treasurer’s Office, Provincial Accountant’s Office and Provincial Budget Office.
