The Sing Philippines Youth Choir (SPYC), a premier national choral ensemble, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. today at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol ahead of their participation in the two-day Kasadyahan sang Kabanwahanan Summit.
During the visit, Governor Defensor welcomed the group, underscoring how their presence will inspire local festival artists to further elevate their craft.
SPYC will conduct workshops and demonstrations for festival performers and organizers. These activities aim to enhance musicality, stage presence, and artistic expression in cultural showcases that define Iloilo’s most beloved festivities.
For festival communities, the summit, which will run from September 6-7, offers a rare opportunity to learn from nationally recognized artists who have represented the Philippines in international competitions and goodwill concerts.
Composed of talented young singers from across the country, the SPYC promotes Filipino identity through choral music and fosters cultural exchange among communities.
