Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. welcomed Police Colonel Narciso D Langcauon, the regional chief of the Regional Highway Patrol Unit VI. Langcauon was accompanied by Police Major Ryan C Palaran, provincial chief of the Provincial Highway Patrol Team Iloilo.
The PNP-HPG enforces traffic laws and regulations and promotes road safety.
Governor Defensor appealed to Langcauon to help the provincial government on the crackdown of overloaded trucks which destroy the provincial roads. He is looking at purchasing five pickup trucks for use of the HPG in every district, particularly for their road clearing operations.
Defensor will also convene the provincial government’s “Bantay Dalan” members to ensure safety and order along the provincial roads.
