As part of his continuing commitment to the reintegration of former rebels, Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. extended financial assistance amounting to Php 20,000 to Alias Migo, a former rebel who sustained injuries during a recent armed encounter with government forces in Tapaz, Capiz.
Alias Migo, a native of Igbaras, Iloilo, surrendered to the military following the clash. The financial aid, intended to support his medical treatment, was received on his behalf by his brother.
Present during the turnover of assistance were Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) head Rani Melvi Cuarte; 1Lt. John Bethoven Malana, Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Officer of the 82nd Infantry Battalion (82IB); SSG Quarine A. Iwag, Civil Affairs Non-Commissioned Officer, 82IB; and CPL Jeanrod Anthony A. Cuya, CMO Management Information System, 82IB.
