The Don Valerio Palmares Sr. Memorial District Hospital, under its Infection Control Program, observed the annual Global Handwashing Day with the theme “Be a Handwashing Hero!” on October 15, 2025, at the DVPSMDH Lobby.
The activity was participated in by the hospital employees and personnel as part of its continuing support and dedication to promote Global Handwashing Day.
It was led by Infection Control Program Coordinator Nurse Tiffany F. Fernandez and Vic Leonard Irin Belloga of the Nursing Service Department.
Chief of Hospital II Dr. Randy B. Portigo delivered the welcome message, followed by a handwashing lecture and a demo by SI III Ruth A. Pagmanoja.
For the finale, the hospital conducted a Quiz Bee championed by Nurse Novie Mosquera, Maria Kristelle Ysabelle Castillon and Ferlie Kaye Palmares and will represent DVPSMDH as regional contender.
DVPSMDH is advocating for hand hygiene awareness, encouraging everyone to be a “Handwashing Hero!”
