Fun, Foodie Friendly Iloilo

Fun, Foodie, Friendly Iloilo Not Only a Slogan But an Identity.

Fun, Foodie, Friendly Iloilo

This is the new tourism slogan of the province of Iloilo which was personally conceptualized by Gov. Arthur Defensor, Jr.

Defensor said the slogan captures “who we are in three words”.

Fun refers to the fiestas and other activities that are celebrated in the province’s more than 1,721 barangays which attract not only the locals but also tourists from other places. The province’s 42 municipalities and one component city also hold their respective festivals that showcase their rich culture, history and tourism potential.

The province also boasts of various tourist destinations, such as beach and inland resorts where people can enjoy and have fun.

Foodie, on the other hand, is a millennial word according to Gov. Defensor which reflects the penchant of the Ilonggos for eating. There are various food establishments and restaurants in Iloilo province that offer mouthwatering foods that make people keep coming back for more.

Friendliness or being hospitable is an inherent characteristic of Filipinos which is also highlighted in the new slogan. Defensor said we, Ilonggos, love welcoming guests and visitors to our homes and are good at taking care of them.

“Fun, Foodie, Friendly Iloilo” was first introduced to the youth during the opening program of the Linggo ng Kabataan which featured a mini food festival at the Capitol grounds.

Gov. Defensor stressed that “Fun, Foodie, Friendly Iloilo” is the best representation of Iloilo province and its people.

“We want this to be the mantra of our tourism industry under MoRProGRes Iloilo or Movement for a Robust, Progressive, Globally-competitive, and Resilient Province of Iloilo,” Defensor said.

He disclosed that he personally conceptualized the slogan and the logo design. He noted that the pictures featured in the logo design may be changed depending on the occasion or activity.

Gov. Defensor encouraged the use of the “Fun, Foodie, Friendly Iloilo” slogan in the different activities of the provincial government and also in its promotional materials.
