Congratulations to the Public Information and Community Affairs Office of the Province of Iloilo for being awarded as Best Performing Information Office by the Philippine Information Agency VI.
PICAO chief Jose Nereo C. Lujan received the award from PIA Director General Jose A. Torre Jr., PIA Deputy Director-General for Strategic Communication and External Affairs Katherine Chloe S. de Castro and PIA Western Visayas Regional Director Cheryl B. Amor during the Western Visayas Information Officers’ Year-end Conference and Awards on December 21, 2023 at Citadines Hotel Iloilo.
In his speech, DG Torre emphasized the vital role played by government information officers in combatting fake news and misinformation.
He also advised the IOs to use Artificial Intelligence responsibly.
Around 150 Information Officers from Western Visayas attended the event which highlights and recognizes the efforts of information officers in promoting the programs, projects, and activities of the government in their respective communities. (Capitol News)
