Regional Director Raul E. Fernandez of the Office of Civil Defense VI requested help from Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr., the PDRRMC Chairperson, to establish a radio communication network for the response operations in the areas affected by the eruption in La Castellana, La Carlota City, and Moises Padilla.
The personnel assigned for this crucial task include:
1. JOEMARIE C. EPILEPICA – Communication Electronic Technician IV, PDRRMO Iloilo
2. MARK ANTHONY R. CURA – Communication Equipment Operator III, PDRRMO Iloilo
3. JOEREY S. PORRAS – Designated Driver, PDRRMO Iloilo (Reassigned)
In addition to the PDRRMO staff, the send-off featured other personnel from the Philippine Alliance of Volunteer Communicators And Responders for Emergency Services (PAVCARES), an accredited community disaster volunteer (ACDV) of Iloilo Province. The PAVCARES team members include:
1. HEMAN S. SARAZA – Communication Specialist
2. REY DONGON – Communicator
3. SALVADOR LAGUNDAY – Communicator
The collective expertise and dedication of these teams are anticipated to significantly enhance the emergency response capabilities in Negros Occidental.
The send-off was marked by a gathering where the team posed for a photo with the PDRRMO Head, PCOL. CORNELIO R SALINAS in front of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol, symbolizing their readiness and commitment to the mission ahead.
