The Department of Energy (DOE) launched Green Ride, an activity to promote the use of environmentally friendly Electronic Vehicles (EVs) at the Casa Real on June 27.
Hon. Rolando “Rolly” B. Distura, the 4th District Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member, delivered his welcome message by sharing the renewable energy projects of Iloilo and highlighting that the Province of Iloilo is entering a limelight of progress.
Moreover, Engr. Renante M. Sevilla, OIC Director of the Department of Energy Visayas Field Office, gave an insightful message about the importance of EVs and green rides, as well as encouraged everyone to break the misconceptions surrounding EVs.
The said event was successfully conducted along with the National Economic Development Authority – Region VI, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board – Region VI, the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Philippine Information Agency.
A green ride experience by the participants from Capitol to SM City and vice versa concluded the activity.
