The Iloilo Provincial Government has donated 100 sacks of rice to the 301st Infantry (BAYANIHAN) Brigade of the Philippine Army, which operates in Panay and Guimaras Islands.
This donation supports the sustainment efforts of troops deployed in the area for the second semester of the year.
Iloilo Provincial Administrator Raul Banias said the governor has always been supportive of the Philippine Army and police including CAFGU which is why the province always allocates funds in its Peace and Order Plan for regular assistance to them.
“They have sacrificed a lot to maintain peace, order, and security in our province and it is just right to provide them support,” said Banias.
Sergeant Ariel Verde, who received the donation on behalf of BAYANIHAN, expressed gratitude, noting it would significantly support their combat operations.
“This contribution will aid the Brigade in stabilizing affected regions and ensuring community safety and security,” he added.
Brigadier General Michael Samson in his request letter highlighted that Iloilo is one of the primary focus due to its numerous communist terrorist group CTG-affected barangays.
“Most of our activities and operations are conducted in these areas to maintain peace and order,” said Gen. Samson.
