Iloilo Hospitals Recognized For Excellence In Green And Safe Health Practices

The Department of Health (DOH) Western Visayas Center for Health Development honored five Iloilo hospitals for their outstanding commitment to green and safe healthcare practices during the recent Regional Awarding of Partners and Stakeholders at Punta Villa, Inland Resort.

The event celebrated health facilities across the region that achieved core objectives in 2024, marking significant strides in health program benchmarks.

Among the recognized facilities were Aleosan District Hospital, Dr. Ricardo S. Provido Sr. Memorial District Hospital, Iloilo Provincial Hospital – IPH , Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial Hospital, and San Joaquin Mother and Child Hospital.

Each hospital earned a Five Green Star Rating under the DOH’s Green Viability Assessment System (GVAS) for their exceptional adherence to environmental sustainability and patient safety standards.

These hospitals set an example by implementing eco-friendly practices while ensuring safe healthcare environments, solidifying Iloilo’s reputation for excellence in public health services.

Moreover, the Iloilo Hospital Management Office was also commended for its technical assistance rendered to various agencies in institutionalizing Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Health (DRRM-H) in the provincial-wide LHS.

This recognition underscored the effective partnerships between DOH and local health facilities in Western Visayas, celebrating the efforts of healthcare providers in advancing the region’s health standards.
