Officials from Muntinlupa recently visited the Province of Iloilo to benchmark the province’s successful initiatives in Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC), as well as its ongoing transition to renewable energy.
The delegation, led by Muntinlupa’s local government officials, expressed their admiration for Iloilo’s notable strides in these fields, particularly recognizing the province’s unified approach that combines executive and legislative support.
Iloilo under Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr., has positioned the province at the forefront of energy sustainability in the region.
Governor Defensor’s support is evident in the substantial funding allocations for renewable energy projects, which are vital in reducing the province’s carbon footprint and improving energy efficiency across government and community facilities.
4th District Board Member Rolando Distura and Provincial Administrator Raul Banias who are advocates for sustainable energy, have been instrumental in championing these crucial initiatives.
As Iloilo continues to lead in environmental sustainability, the benchmarking visit from Muntinlupa serves as a testament to the province’s commitment to renewable energy and its role as a model for other local government units in the country.
