In celebration of Population and Development Week, the Iloilo Provincial Population Office (PPO) through its Population and Development (POPDev) Integration Focal Team conducted workshops for Barangay Development Councils (BDCs) to promote people-centered planning.
Held in six barangays across Pavia, Dumangas, and Lambunao throughout November, the workshops capacitated BDCs to craft holistic and responsive barangay development plans aligned with Iloilo’s MoRProGRes (Movement for a Robust, Progressive, Globally Competitive, and Resilient) mantra.
By emphasizing population as the core of development, the sessions aim to address community needs comprehensively, fostering sustainable growth and improved quality of life.
The program reinforces the principle that people are at the heart of Iloilo’s progress, paving the way for inclusive and community-driven development.
