The Municipality of Estancia received a funding of P15 million from the Iloilo provincial government for the establishment of a waste management facility and a material recovery facility in the town.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. turned over the check to Estancia Mayor Mary Lynn N. Mosqueda today, February 13. They were joined by Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) Chief Atty. Cesar Emmanuelle Buyco Jr. and Estancia Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer Ginalen Ruth S. Loy.
Mayor Mosqueda thanked Governor Defensor for the assistance, saying that these support facilities will really help them address the growing problem of wastes in the municipality.
Defensor, who is an environmental champion, has been advocating for efficient solid waste management in the province of Iloilo to achieve environmental sustainability.
