The Iloilo Provincial Health Office (IPHO) reinforced its commitment to public health with a Dengue Advocacy, Monitoring, and Surveillance initiative in Barangay Carmelo, Banate on February 18, 2025.
Barangay officials, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and local residents actively participated in the initiative, which aimed to enhance dengue prevention, early detection, and community engagement in keeping the environment mosquito-free.
IPHO officials emphasized the importance of regular cleanup drives, eliminating mosquito breeding grounds, and early consultation for suspected dengue cases.
Residents were also encouraged to adopt the 4S Strategy—Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites, Secure self-protection, Seek early consultation, and Support fogging in outbreak areas.
The initiative is part of the Iloilo Provincial Government’s ongoing efforts to curb dengue cases and protect communities through proactive health monitoring and education.
