The Iloilo Provincial Government, through its Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO – Province of Iloilo), hosted a benchmarking activity today for human resource management practitioners from Zamboanga del Norte.
The activity focused on Iloilo’s implementation of the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM), a mechanism developed by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to enhance government agencies’ human resource management systems.
PRIME-HRM assesses and strengthens the competencies, systems, and practices of agencies in key areas such as recruitment, learning and development, performance management, and rewards.
Iloilo Province is currently accredited at Maturity Level 2, signifying that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are well-defined and documented, with ongoing efforts to reach Level 3 accreditation.
HRMDO Chief Atty. Renee Valecia welcomed the delegates from Zamboanga del Norte, composed of HR practitioners from local government units (LGUs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), national government agencies (NGAs), and government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs).
“We are very happy to share with you what we have. We hope we can satisfy you with what we prepared for you this morning,” said Valencia as she addressed the delegates.
CSC IX Director Atty. Jerry Mayormita, leading the Zamboanga delegation, expressed their eagerness to apply the insights gained from Iloilo’s best practices.
“We want to learn more from the insights and takeaways that we can bring to our agencies to better address the challenges of human resource management,” he said.
The benchmarking activity highlights Iloilo Province’s commitment to continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing, demonstrating its leadership in advancing human resource management practices within the public sector.
