The Iloilo Provincial Nutrition Committee Evaluation Team led by Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Wendel Marcelo-Tupas assessed the efficiency and effectiveness of the nutrition programs of the municipality of Ajuy.
The Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro aims to evaluate the progress of nutrition program implementation, determine good practices of LGUs, and identify areas of improvement.
The LGUs were assessed on several dimensions in line with the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2023-2025 such as vision and mission, nutrition policies and services, governance, local nutrition committee management, and changes in nutritional status.
Present during the evaluation are Mayor Jett Rojas, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Sarrie Masongsong, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Roy Joshua Gerona, Human Resources for Health Ivan Mainar, Municipal Nutrition Council members, and the Barangay Nutrition Scholars.
Outgoing Mayor Rojas, who will be serving as vice mayor in his next term, committed to provide additional budget for health and nutrition and address the problem of malnutrition in the municipality.
Forward-looking, Dr. Gerona said they will strive hard to strengthen their Municipal Nutrition Action Plan to address program deficiencies and implement initiatives to ensure the well-being of Ajuynons.
