Gov. Inaugurates Water System Project At Brgy. Quinagaringan Grande

Quinagaringan Grande residents have rejoiced with the opening of their newly constructed water system project, a project led by the Iloilo Provincial Government via the Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO) under the MoRProGRes Iloilo program.

The inauguration rites, conducted on May 27, 2025, were presided over by Gov. Arthur R. Defensor, Jr., joined by local executives from the barangay, namely Punong Barangay Ariel C. Castellano, and the PEO group under the leadership of Provincial Engineer Romeo C. Andig.

Governor Defensor was thankful for the support of the community towards the project, stressing its contribution to giving more household beneficiaries access to basic water services and complementing other local priorities. He also underscored the significance of community-based organizations in securing the long-term sustainability of the water system.

For the people of Brgy. Quinagaringan Grande, the completion of this water system is a great milestone. The barangay had suffered from extreme water shortage when Super Typhoon Yolanda hit, depriving them of water supply for a whole two years. This new facility guarantees relief and a fresh air of hope to the people.

Ms. Rizel C. Saplad, member of the Balud Water System Board of Directors (BOD), expressed her sincere appreciation for the project. She recognized the urgent problems of insufficient and inconsistent supply of water, especially during the dry season. Her genuine comment, “hanggod guid daya nga bulig sa adlaw-adlaw nga panginahanglan,” (this help in our daily needs is really important) struck a chord with the sentiment of the people, highlighting the project’s hoped-for good influence.

Another member of the BOD, Mrs. Milagros C. CerbaΓ±a, shared the same opinion, highlighting the long-term advantage the project will have on the people.

The newly opened water system, which costs a total of P1,598,669.18, will cater to 50 families with an adequate and drinkable water supply.

Punong Barangay of Quinagaringan Pequeno, Passi City, and the Board of Directors of Balud Water System also attended the activity, showcasing the teamwork behind this feat.

This new infra may be seen as a reflection of the Provincial Government’s dedication to enhancing the lives of its people by catering to basic needs like access to clean water. (π‘·π’“π’π’—π’Šπ’π’„π’Šπ’‚π’ π‘¬π’π’ˆπ’Šπ’π’†π’†π’“β€™π’” π‘Άπ’‡π’‡π’Šπ’„π’†)
