Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. together with Provincial Agriculturist Ildefonso Toledo presented Certificates of Recognition to the Ilonggo finalists in the 50th Gawad Saka Parangal sa Mga Natatanging Magsasaka at Mangingisda held on May 26, 2025 in Pasay City, Metro Manila during the flag-raising ceremony this morning.
The finalists are:
Engineer Jonny Laida Diane of Iloilo Living Farms who was selected as one of the top three national finalists as Outstanding Dairy Goat Raiser. His unwavering dedication to sustainable livestock farming, innovative practices in dairy goat production, and commitment to agricultural excellence have significantly contributed to the advancement of the local dairy goat production.
His exemplary leadership and passion for agri-preneurship serve as inspiration to fellow farmers and agri-entrepreneurs nationwide.
Ajuy Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (MARFC) also received the Certificate of Recognition for having been selected as one of the top three national finalists as Outstanding Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council. This honor is testament to the council’s unwavering commitment to sustainable fisheries, inclusive governance, and empowerment of the fisherfolks.
Ajuy SB Member Ramon Rojas joined the MARFC officers in receiving the Certificate of Recognition.
The Iloilo provincial government is fully committed to supporting the agriculture sector through various programs and initiatives designed to enhance food security and reinforce the province’s standing as a leading agricultural hub.
