Nineteen Ilonggo Overseas Foreign Workers (OFW) received their Php 10,000 financial assistance for repatriated OFWs from Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. and Public Employment Services Office (PESO) head Cynthia Dario this morning.
The recipients previously worked in countries such as Hong Kong, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, etc.
They went to the Governor’s Office to express their gratitude to Gov. Defensor for having a program that attends to the welfare of OFWs.
The financial assistance is given to repatriated Ilonggo OFWs who experienced job displacement due to foreign countries political unrest, civil war natural calamities maltreatment by foreign employer or by reason of sickness/accident.
Dario said that a total of 265 OFWs have received the financial assistance since January this year while close to 1,600 have benefitted from the program since 2021.
