PBBM Honors Iloilo’s Parada Ng Kalayaan Feat

Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. received from Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos the awards of the Province of Iloilo for dominating the Parada ng Kalayaan 2025 as part of the 127th Philippine Independence Day celebration.

Defensor formally received the awards during the Parangal ng Kalayaan 2025 today, July 10 at the Kalayaan Hall, Malacañang. He was accompanied by Vice Governor Lee Ann Debuque, Maasin Mayor Francis Amboy, and Santa Barbara Mayor Dennis Superficial in receiving the awards.

The Tultugan Festival of the municipality of Maasin emerged as grand champion in the Festival Performance Competition. They received a championship trophy, a certificate, and a cash prize of P2 million.

The Cry of Santa Barbara float won second place in the Historical Float Competition. Iloilo’s float received a certificate and a cash prize of P1 million.

Iloilo dominated the 2025 Parada ng Kalayaan last June 12, 2025, spearheaded by the NHCP, as it proudly showcased its rich cultural heritage and significant contribution to the attainment of our freedom.

Tultugan Festival features the rhythm and melody of bamboo, giving tribute to Maasin’s rich bamboo industry.

The Cry of Santa Barbara float honors the valor and sacrifices of our Ilonggo revolutionary heroes leading to the inauguration of the Revolutionary Government of the Visayas on November 17, 1898.

Also present during the awarding ceremony are Badiangan Mayor Suzette Mamon and various Capitol department heads and employees.
