Barangay officials from Carmona, Makati City visited the Iloilo Provincial Capitol on Tuesday as part of their Gender and Development (GAD) Planning and Budgeting Activity, aimed at benchmarking Iloilo’s inclusive governance practices and gender-responsive programs.
The delegation conducted a series of learning visits to key offices of the Iloilo Provincial Government, including the Provincial Gender and Development (GAD) Unit, the Provincial Health Office (PHO), and the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions (LEDIP) Center. These visits showcased Iloilo’s integrated approach to gender mainstreaming, health services, and inclusive economic development.
They also had a courtesy call to Iloilo Vice Governor Lee Ann Debuque and Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. at the Capitol.
The learning visit affirms Iloilo’s position as a hub for good governance and a model for GAD institutionalization at the local level.
