Batad Mayor Elvira Alarcon of Batad, Iloilo receives a check worth Php 6 million from the Iloilo provincial government for the establishment of a Resilience Hub in their municipality.
The Resilience Hub will be the extension of the Provincial Government’s Operation Center which is a comprehensive and integrated system for disaster risk reduction and management, disease control, insurgency, criminality, illegal drugs, food security, and education concerns, among others.
With Mayor Alarcon are Municipal Treasurer Aljun de la Cruz and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) head Gilbert de la Cruz.
Representing Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. in the turnover of the check are Juanito Acanto, Jr. of the Provincial Administrator’s Office, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) head Cornelio Salinas, and his assistant Ma. Celia Sabido.
