Former rebels in Iloilo are now one step closer to rebuilding their lives, thanks to the Iloilo Provincial Government’s push for inclusive peace and development through the Livelihood Settlement Grant (LSG) program.
In a recent Orientation and Planning Meeting facilitated by the PSWDO Province Of Iloilo held at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol, stakeholders from national and local government agencies came together to chart a course for the successful implementation of the LSG program in the province.
The program is designed to provide financial assistance to eligible former rebels, empowering them to start livelihood projects, become self-sufficient, and reintegrate into their communities with dignity and purpose.
During the meeting, representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI gave an in-depth orientation on the program’s guidelines. The meeting also brought together the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) through the 301st Infantry Brigade, the 61st and 12th Infantry Battalions of the Philippine Army, and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).
