NNC Evaluators Pay Courtesy Visit To Gov. Defensor Ahead Of National Nutrition Evaluation

The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Evaluators paid a courtesy visit to Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. today, ahead of their National Nutrition Evaluation in the province of Iloilo.

The evaluation aims to assess the performance of local government units (LGUs) in planning and implementing nutrition programs through the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) framework.

The NNC team was joined by Iloilo Provincial Health Office chief Dr. Maria Socorro Quiñon, Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Wendel Marcelo Tupas, and District Nutrition Program Coordinator Leni Disin.

Iloilo Province, a proud recipient of the prestigious Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) Award, is once again set for an evaluation to measure the sustainability and impact of its nutrition programs.

This recognition honors LGUs with exceptional nutrition programs that have significantly improved the health and well-being of residents.

To qualify for the CROWN award, an LGU must be a Green Banner Seal of Compliance recipient for three consecutive years and achieve a high overall rating in national evaluations.

Iloilo’s consistent performance reflects its commitment to sustained nutrition interventions, community engagement, and evidence-based health initiatives for the Ilonggo people.
