The Iloilo Provincial Health Office is intensifying its dengue prevention efforts with simultaneous activities in Mina, Zarraga, and Pototan aimed at protecting residents and empowering communities.
In Barangay Dala, Mina, BHWs, officials, and sanitation inspectors received hands-on dengue vector surveillance training, visited over 100 households, and conducted “search and destroy” activities to eliminate mosquito breeding sites.
At SOS Children’s Village in Zarraga, dengue prevention spraying was carried out to protect children and staff, while in Barangay Cahaguichican, Pototan, BHWs were trained to conduct entomological surveys for faster detection and control of dengue risks.
These efforts highlight the province’s proactive approach in building the capacity of health workers, engaging communities, and promoting clean, safe surroundings to keep dengue cases low and families healthy.
