The Province of Iloilo reaffirmed its commitment to participatory governance as more than 80 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from across the province recently gathered to elect their representatives to the Local Special Bodies (LSBs).
The selection ensures that communities have a direct seat at the table in critical planning, policy-making, and program implementation, allowing local needs, insights, and priorities to influence government action.
The assembly was attended by Vice Governor Nathalie Ann F. Debuque, Atty. Dennis T. Ventilacion (Provincial Legal Officer and OIC, Office of the Provincial Administrator), SP Member Rolito C. Cajilig (Chairperson, Committee on Cooperatives and Non-Government Organizations), and Engr. Carmelo F. Orbista (Provincial Director, DILG-Iloilo), whose presence underscored the provincial leadership’s unwavering support for citizen engagement.
