Patients in Iloilo’s district hospitals can expect more inclusive and compassionate service as hospital personnel undergo Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) spearheaded by the Hospital Management Office, with technical support from the Provincial Gender and Development Technical Working Group GADIloilo.
Personnel of Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital in Cabatuan and SARA District hospital have already completed the training, while Dr. Ricardo S. Provido Memorial District Hospital in Calinog is preparing its second batch of participants. Other district hospitals across the province are also finalizing their training schedules.
Through a series of workshops and lectures, the training tackled Gender Concepts, Gender Issues, and Gender and Development.
This knowledge empowers them to provide services that are more respectful, equitable, and responsive.
For patients, the initiative translates to improved hospital experiences where gender sensitivity is observed in every aspect of care, from consultations to emergency response.
For health workers, the training fosters stronger teamwork and a workplace culture rooted in respect and inclusivity.
