Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. has expressed full support for the hosting of the 2025 National Population Convention in Iloilo this October.
The event, set for October 7–10, 2025, will be organized by the Association of Population Officers of the Province of Iloilo (APOPI, Inc.) in partnership with the Federation of League of Population Officers and Workers of the Philippines (FLEPOWPHIL).
The event is designed to facilitate “meaningful dialogue and collaboration on population development initiatives,” addressing challenges and maximizing demographic opportunities.
APOPI President John Nino Escorpion and Iloilo Provincial Population Office (PPO) chief, Atty. Ruel Von Superio, met with the Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. today to present the plans for the convention.
They formally invited him to serve as a keynote speaker to emphasize the importance of population management in achieving sustainable development goals, and his flagship BES Probins (Bulig Eskwela sang Probinsya) Program, which includes the building and institutionalization of Teen Centers across the province.
