September 9, 2025— As part of the weeklong celebration of the Tambobo Festival, the Municipality of Ajuy, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Loida Espinosa, initiated to have the “Pag-amuma Services,” a community outreach initiative that provided essential services to residents.
One of the activities was the neutering for cats and dogs held at NISU-Ajuy Campus, carried out through the collaboration of veterinarians from various government agencies.
A total of 63 pets – comprising 19 females and 44 males, both cats and dogs – were successfully neutered through this initiative.
The surgical team was comprises of the following veterinarians:
Dr. Darel B. Tabuada, Provincial Veterinarian together with Dr. Wendy Degillo, Dr. Darin Corcolla, Dr. Aron Roy Hisole, Dr. Pacifico Lumauag III of the Department of Agriculture, Region 6, Dr. BJ Jalando-on, Municipal Veterinarian of Ajuy, LCDR Kirk C. Acdal, DVM from Philippine Coast Guard Dr. Joseph H. Dosado from the Province of Guimaras and the City Veterinarians Dr. Fernando Abulencia, Dr. Merlyn Plemones and Dr. Suzette Leal.
Through the “Pag-amuma Services,” the Municipality of Ajuy demonstrated its commitment in providing meaningful programs that addresses community needs while ensuring that the Tambobo Festival remains a celebration not only of local culture but also of public service and welfare.
