The Balay Pagbag-o (Bahay Pag-Asa), a 24-hour child-caring institution of the Iloilo provincial government, made it among the Top 5 finalists for the national Search for Bahay Pag-Asa Good Practices of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC).
The JJWC National Awards Committee – Technical Working Group (NAC-TWG) is conducting an onsite validation of the Balay Pagbag-o from September 10 to 13, 2025.
The NAC-TWG also paid a courtesy visit on Provincial Administrator Raul Banias on Wednesday. They are Ms. Rubella Ongbit (Team Leader), Camille Rose Ignacio, Anna Karla Villanueva, Lonelyn Bonifacio, and Atty. Janicka Paragados from the Department of Education.
The Balay Pagbag-o provides short-term residential care for male CICL who are above fifteen (15) but below eighteen (18) years of age and are awaiting court disposition of their cases or transfer to other agencies or jurisdictions.
It offers the following programs and services: case management, family-based services, homelife and health services, ecumenical and interfaith programs, developmental services, livelihood and entrepreneurial programs, educational services, psychosocial services, and recreation and other cultural activities.
