The Iloilo Provincial Government, through the Iloilo Provincial Population Office, awarded outstanding school-based teen centers for their innovation and effective implementation of the adolescent health and youth development programs.
The Search for Bukod-Tanging Teen Center recognition program is one of the highlights of the Teen Center Day today at the Iloilo Convention Center.
The winners were judged based on their functionality, innovation, program impacts, and sustainability.
There are two categories for the major awards. The Category A winners are those teen centers which were constructed between 2011 and 2017. The Category B awardees are those which were established since 2018.

The minor winners received cash awards worth P10,000, P8,000, and P5,000, respectively.
The Teen Center Day celebrated the impacts of the Teen Center project which offered a safe space for adolescents to access counseling and peer support programs for their holistic development.
As of 2025, the provincial government has established 102 school-based multi-purpose teen centers in Iloilo.
PPO chief Atty. Ruel Von Superio said the provincial government will continue to create more programs, explore bold initiatives, and build strong partnerships for the welfare of the youth.
โSo today, as we celebrate the Provincial Teen Center Day, I hope that you feel proud of what we have achieved together, inspired by what is possible, and excited for the future that you are helping to shape,โ said Atty. Superio.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. underscored the crucial role of the teen facility in the implementation of total youth development programs.
โHalf of our youth development initiatives will happen inside our teen center,โ the governor said.
