The designated information officers of the Iloilo Provincial Government are undergoing a three-day Training-Seminar on Artificial Intelligence for Government Communicators organized by the Public Information and Community Affairs Office from October 9 to 11, 2025 at Damires Hills Farm and Spa Resort.
The first day featured sessions on the introduction to artificial intelligence and the role of AI in government communication by Mr. Louie Cervantes, director of the West Visayas State University Management Information System Office.
The participants also explored AI-powered tools to help them in performing administrative tasks.
PICAO chief Jose Nereo Lujan said this capacity-building activity aims to capacitate government communicators in using artificial intelligence effectively, given the nature and demands of their work.
Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, who claimed to be also an AI user, underscored the crucial role of technology in making our life and work easier.
Mr. Cervantes urged the participants to use technology responsively and not for the intent of causing harm to others.
