Peso ‘Job And Migrants Fair’ Draws Hundreds Of Applicants

Over 300 Ilonggo jobseekers flocked to the Casa Real de Iloilo on Thursday for the PESO Job and Migrants Fair 2025, which opened more than 3,300 local and overseas job opportunities from 17 local employers and 10 overseas recruitment agencies.

The annual event, organized by the Office of the Provincial Public Employment Service Manager (OPPESM), continues to serve as a platform for Ilonggos seeking meaningful and sustainable employment.

Twenty-two applicants were hired on the spot, while many others qualified for follow-up interviews.

In addition to job matching, the event featured a Trade Fair and an Anti-Illegal Recruitment (AIR) Orientation, which aimed to educate jobseekers on the dangers of illegal recruitment, promote safe and ethical migration, and guide applicants in recognizing legitimate recruitment agencies.

The AIR session also encouraged vigilance among aspiring overseas workers and reminded them to transact only with accredited agencies and authorized government offices.

Government agencies such as OWWA, DMW, DOLE, PhilHealth, and DSWD provided on-site assistance through help desks, while Libreng Sakay services from the municipalities of Badiangan and San Miguel made it easier for jobseekers to attend the fair.
