The employees and staff of the Municipal Assessor’s Office of Tupi, South Cotabato are having their Strategic Planning and Benchmarking Activity in the province of Iloilo on October 23 to 26, 2025.
Led by Municipal Assessor Ms. Lanie S. Glima, they learned from Iloilo’s best practices in Real Property Tax Collection and local fiscal administration.
The province of Iloilo ranked 10th among the 82 provinces in the Philippines in terms of highest local source revenues for 2024, as recognized by the Department of Finance – Bureau of Local Government Finance.
The Iloilo provincial government, through the Office of the Provincial Treasurer and the Office of the Provincial Assessor also received multiple awards for Calendar Year 2024 from the BLGF during the 2025 Conference of Assessors, Treasurers, and Technical Personnel held on October 8 at Grand Hotel, Iloilo City.
Iloilo ranked first among the LGUs in Western Visayas in the following categories: Highest Collection Efficiency in Four Locally Sourced Revenues, Highest Locally Sourced Revenue in Business Tax and Other Taxes, Highest Increase in Taxable Assessed Value, and Highest Increase in Real Property Units.
The delegates also paid a courtesy visit on OIC-Governor and Provincial Administrator Raul Banias on October 24. They were joined by Provincial Assessor Rema Calderon and Assistant Provincial Assessor Marissa Daquilanea.
The two LGUs share strong cultural ties as majority of South Cotabato residents speak Hiligaynon.
